Hey Guys! I was just wondering if writing CMP is okay...I heard you should write out electrolytes, AST/ALT, etc etc so let me know what you guys things! Thanks!!

Avoid anything that isn't included on that list of acceptable abbreviations. I'm not sure but I don't think CMP is on that list. You may not get points for it otherwise. Better to err on the side of caution. I'd write out all the specifics instead of just putting CMP.

You 'may' get points for stuff not on their list. I think it depends if the grader understands it or not.

Honestly you don't have time to compare your abbreviations with the accepted ones. If they are common you will get points. Use your common sense.

The issue with a CMP is i'd suspect there 'might' be variation on what is included depending on your particular institution and they just want you to be unambiguous.

However, my understand is you don't lose points for ordering excess blood tests. In other words order too much instead of ordering too little.
