got my step 2 score today 245 which is lower than my step 1 score... should i call the programs? or too late in the game?

1. Are you crazy? Yes/No
Yes: Ok, you should have done better. 245 is a really bad score. See if you can retake the exam in 5 years.
No: Stop fretting. It is a great score.
2. Every program has the lists in by now. No one waits till the last day. Don't bother calling.
3. Programs don't care. If you have a good Step 1, it is virtually impossible to bomb Step 2.
4. Go get a six pack. Take yours, I'll keep the other 5.

it seems people are getting the wrong impression ... I asked because some school keep asking me about my step 2 score (Case Western was one) and I wasn't sure if the other programs that did not contact me would rank applicants without step 2 CK score. And there is this thread ...

No one is going to change their lists at 5:29pm on the day the lists go in. Sorry. I am sure there are great programs on your list that aren't fussy about Step 2 scores. I would think that even the ones that are fussy about it would rank a great candidate - no one with a 240+ Step 1 does badly on Step 2.

Even if they asked about your Step 2 score, and yours is 245, it doesn't matter. Anything basically above 220 (?debatable?) and they really don't care, unless your step 1 was 195.
Just think for a minute how silly it is asking if a 245 Step 2 score (a score well above the mean) will hurt you. Now punch yourself in the arm.
A 245 step 2 is great, even if your step 1 was better. Calm down, tiger.
Edit: I'm not sure what concerns you about that thread. The gist of it was whether having it completed or not will hurt, not about the score.

Thanks dude/dudette ... i was concerned because my step 2 score just came out today and most programs wont have it because they won't check ERAS at this point. At this point, like you said no one is gonna change the rank list ...so don't matter. fingers crossed.
PS. just another rant ... this whole process reminds me of those ninja training techniques where you have to kill each other at the end ... i would have been happy in the beginning just to match anywhere but no you have to reason with yourself why one program is better than the another and make yourself emotionally involved with the program no. 1 while in reality you don't just care.... now if you matched at the bottom ... you got a **** pile of psychological dissonance to sort through 😀

It's definitely a mind-f**k. But now it's over and we just have to stay sane for 3 weeks, or get our sanity back before intern year starts.

Did you not automatically release them to programs? They should have automatically gotten an update with your score...
