Can a 244 or a 99 help you in any way? Does anyone know how it is factored into the residency equation. I did not do that hot on step one, 215....

215 is not bad for step 1 - isn't that right around average for psychiatry applicants?
No one will think you are a poor applicant except for programs like Baylor and other "top tier" research programs.
Certainly a high step 2 score can help you with a lot of programs, just not those (like Baylor) that write ">90" for USMLE step 1 and step 2, or who have a high score set as their step 1 filter. Some of the attendings here can probably tell you about what score they look for (if any).
