As a DO student is it pointless to take usmle step 2 in october if you're applying to MD programs?...or does it still have some value?

As a DO student is it pointless to take usmle step 2 in october if you're applying to MD programs?...or does it still have some value?

I would say it might be worthwhile if you haven't taken step one and applying to certian ACGME programs. A few programs I have contacted stated that I needed either Step 1 or Step 2 for them to compare myself with other applicants.
