Hi everyone,

I would appreciate your input.

Everyone says that USMLEworld is better than Qbank because the questions are harder and involve several steps to get the answer. I am about 1/2 through Qbank, would it be beneficial to get USMLEworld now too?

I would really appreciate any comments and suggestions.

IMO, qbank isn't very good for step 2. A lot of the questions are too easy in the sense that you just need to bridge the gap from, say, meconium ileus to cystic fibrosis or Koplik spots to the measles.

Usmleworld is very good. I'm using both right now and usmleworld is far better than Kaplan qbank.

It's definitely worth the money.

USMLE World is money definitely.... its a great investment... I mean the explanations are right on for a good part.. Kaplan Qbank explanations are unfortunately too superficial and I mean big time superficial..... the Qbook explanations are much better, but the online version, they really need to expand on those explanations for the Kaplan Qbank... I mean thats the most important thing, is learning the concept, not memorizing the questions, which it seems as if thats what I got out of it while doing them (Kaplan Qbank that is )... but nevertheless, the questions are very useful for the real deal in both cases, however the explanations are much much better in USMLE World..
good luck guys.

Bellkicker, long time not seen. I thought you would be done with step 2 by now.
Does anyone know how long it takes to go through the usmleworld qustion bank? Assuming you have full days of studying, that is.

Nah, got two more weeks to go.

You could easily go through Usmleworld in a week or two. I'm only doing about 100 questions a day, which makes it 3 weeks to go through the questions. I think I'll review the incorrect questions the last week so the one-month subscription was about right for me.

When are you taking your step 2?

And, hey, I hear they kick @ss in Albania....Ouch 😀 What a way for the Euro champions to get back down to earth. Denmark-Greece will be a good one.

You mean 1-2 weeks with or without checking the answers? When I did q bank for step 1 it took me about 2 7 hour-per-day weeks to go through Q's and A's just once. The USMLE world is supposed to have 2000 questions with even longer explanations,so what's the deal?

You re missing the point. Greece won the Euro because they were the underdogs. We have serious trouble winning teams that are theoretically weaker than us (only defeat in euro was from poor Russia). I'm taking step 2 ck sometime in December. But i'm not going for the 2005 match anymore, so things are more relaxed 4 me right now.

Good luck for your step 2.

I posted this on the other USMLEworld vs. Kaplan thread -- but in summary, I would not waste my time on USMLEworld...the questions are poorly written and the questions are not similar to those asked on the actual exam.

My UW qbank scores fall within 50-70%. Are my scores too low? Thank you!

Not at all, I think my overall average on the questions that I did was about 60% and i ended up with a 246

When would you recommend starting USMLEworld for step 2? Should I wait until I start studying for step 2 or try some questions first to see how I am doing?
thanks
