Hi everyone! I have a quick question about taking Step 2CK. My Step 2CK exam is scheduled for late July. I'll probably get the score back mid-late August. If my CAS application is already submitted at that point and I want programs to have my Step 2CK is there a way to submit the score report?

That being said, my Step 1 is a 232/99. I also wanted feedback on how necessary it is for me to take my Step 2CK early since I've been getting mixed answers from asking around.

I took mine july of 4th year as well. My Step 1 was 233...Step 2 225, nothing stellar, but i felt like not submitting it after taking it that early would come back to bite me somehow, ie- if they asked if i had taken it yet during interviews and why i didnt submit it. Unless its substantially lower than Step 1 i dont think it will hurt you. I think I sent my score report into SFMatch as soon as i got it and they added it to my application.

I think your step 1 is pretty solid after reading a couple of those articles about scores and how people match. If you think you can get a 235+ on step 2 CK and it doesn't mess with your schedule then why not? But if you're doing it because you think you have a bad step 1...forget about it for a while 🙂

If your willing to work for a month to prepare just like you did for STEP 1 then take it early and your score will be higher for sure. STEP 2 is easier than STEP 1 and nationwide people do better on it. If you can't stomach a hard study month then put it off. No one on the interview trail will ask why you don't have Step 2 done yet. Its a non issue for ophtho
