Can someone tell me exactly how the breaks and timing work. I dont have a watch that works and dont have the money to buy one right now. Do we need a watch(i assume we cant bring our cellphones)? Is there a seperate clock for the exam and then one for the break time? Do we have to subtract the two times to calculate how much break time we have?

Thanks alot (exam in 3 days!)

the computer times everything for you... there will be a running total for your test time and your break time.

Download the free tutorial on the NBME website, it does a better job explaining everything.

You can't bring watches or cellphones into the exam room. You have to put them in a small locker outside.

Obviously, you have a timer on the computer screen.

The testing center should have clocks displayed in the room as well.

I think you have 1 hour total break time (including the tutorial time). It is split up however you want.
