Howdy y'all!

I'm taking Step III next month and am about to order a review book. I used First Aid and Step Up for Step I, First Aid and Boards & Wards for Step II.

I'm looking at either First Aid or Crush the Boards for Step III. Any thoughts on these?

Thanks and take care,
Jeff

not advice from experience, but what i have read from other posters is that first aid for III is great for the clinical case scenarios. If you go through those, you will likely see some "very similar" cases during the actual test.

also heard that usmleworld.com is the way to go for the questions, as with step II. usmleworld.com is absolutely incredible and less than half the price of kaplan q bank. they have multiple choice q's and clinical case scenario q's.

good luck

how much does this test cost? does your institution normally pay for that, or is it on you?

Shouldn't a year as an EM1 hold ground with any review book? At least, that is what I am hoping... 🙂 . First Aid and this last year, those are my options, and I take it next week.

Clarity of Thought...

Why study for Step III? You only have to pass and no one looks at the score anyway. I would review the CD that came with your registration, but that's about it. I didn't study at all, and still passed, despite missing all the primary care questions about menstruation, birth control, and managing hypertension/diabetes/cholesterol.

all of the books have the exact same information, just in different formats. for instance, ACE ia outline-format, Crush is paragraph-format, etc. Just get the one you like best.
