which book? I figure on the last week I am gonna cram w/ one of those books. It seems that the pathophys for the boards and wards is VERY VERY clinical making it very good it seems for step1. on the otherhand theres stepup which is just all around.

from those that took step1 , which would you suggest as a last minute crammer, in addition to FA?

Jalby, lol i know you'll say step up 😀

got the picture...

but wow...cuz it seems soo freakin clinically oriented! but i guess if thats the word on the street (pathophys for boards and wards is garbage) i will take the advice.

I might be in the minority but for my test pathophysiology for the boards and wards helped me answer at least 5 questions and I felt it helped solidify some key concepts. Good luck.

There are some real solid sections in Boards and Wards. I thought that it helped me on my test...it solidified and talked about some random diseases that I saw on my exam.

There are some very good things in Boards and Wards but overall I feel the book is waaay to detailed and clinicaly oriented as compared to the boards. I'm sure it'll be a great resource on the Wards but they kinda go overboard (no pun intended) on the boards part.

Is it just me, but i think pathophysiology for the boards and wards is overrated.

I'm wondering if this book should be titled pathophysiology for the wards and Step 2.

Why? Is Pathophysiology worth reading? Anyone else have any experience with the NEW version (see below)? How long does it take to go through it?

Publisher: Blackwell Publishers; 4th edition (April 1, 2003)
ISBN: 1405103426

MS3 here.

I used BnW while taking my courses my second year. I thought it was by far one of the best books...i love the format.

i dont know how long it would take to go through it front to back...and i wouldnt suggest it being the ONLY source for ur studies...however, say you read some heme one day, i would use this book as a 'review' of the stuff you read....cuz once you have a baseline it will help you integrate. and thats the beauty of the book, it integrates stuff soo darn well!
