Curious if you are holding steroid exposure around COVID vaccinations and if so what time frames.

Are you offering local anesthetic only non-steroid injections as an alternative?

I'm telling pts there is a theoretical risk of delayed immunogenicity. I am not concerned about it but if they are concerned, they should wait 2 weeks before/after the covid vaccine for steroid. MBBs/RFA I hold the steroid if it's within 2 weeks unless they request I don't.

Most of my pts have elected to wait on the steroid procedures.

People on chronic immunosuppressants are still recommended to get the vaccine and i haven't seen reporting that indicates diminished immune response. I'm sure there is some delay in immunogenicity but I doubt it's clinically relevant.

one week on either side. Though I have injected patients within these timelines after discussing potential risk/benefits in relationship to vaccine.

1 week if the patient is desperate in pain, ideally 2 weeks. Partly because I do not want my shot to be blamed for someone else's Spring Break COVID extravaganza.
