Hello Dear fellow friends. I was wondering if you give me some info. for the following..

My question is regarding stethoscope in STEP 2 CS. In practice..I can see every one uses diaphragm every where..didn't see using the bell. Offcourse I know that diaphragm is for high frequency and bell is for low frequency sound..as for me..I'm using electronic one and I am just swith back and forth every where..but for exam purposes..I need to make sure which one is approperate to where..becouse I have to use conventional stetoschope that time..So..for Step 2 CS..is that ok if I use just the diapgragm every where? or which one is approperate to use:

for heart..
lung..
abdomen/bowl sound
carotid A/bruit..

Thank you very much

I'm not sure they are going to let you use your electronic stethoscope. I think they were checking and making people use one of the cheap ones at the testing center if the stethoscope was electric or had lights attached, etc. I am not really sure though, just check the CS website. I wouldn't worry about which part of the stethoscope you use. I doubt that is a checkbox.

I think it is a "checkbox" for the 4 heart valve areas. Use both sides in each of the 4 locations. Other than that, doesnt matter.
