Does anyone else have to buy a stethoscope for this fall? and a sphygmomanomter?

I realized that pharmacists evaluated their patients but I didn't realize they had to use these tools.

we did not have to have them our first year but did our third...
we have a physical assessment lab where we take blood pressure, listen to the heart, listen to breath sounds, listen to the abdomen, used glucometeres, looked in the ears, looked at the eyes, looked in the throat, blah blah blah....

basically what it shows is what they do during a work up....
but yes i anticipate since i want to be that kind of pharmacist to be taking blood pressures when i graduate.

not every school does that though

Here is my fall line-up so far (what they gave me automatically..I imagine more will be forthcoming with electives???) The supplies are for the patient centered skills class.

Aubie,
when and how did you get this info (ie. email?)? I was wondering because I'm going to AU pharm school this fall and haven't been notified about a class schedule or anything. I did get the e-mail about the stethescope and blood pressure cuff though.
Thanks!

We used them during our first year. UF supplied them. We just had to check them out and turn them back in when we were done with our community health screenings.

I used the OASIS program to look at my fall schedule since i am already an AU student. Perhaps you don't have a login number and password yet ...

I never got an email I just stumbled upon it by accident
