I am on the 4th test of CDP and still getting 17! 😱..Is this normal?..On top of it my timing is pretty bad.:scared: Started for the first time the other day.. I can say that the scores on the different subjects is not consistant..in other words sometimes I get 6/15 on top front end and sometimes 11/15, or it is like that with the other ones. On the last test I got 5/15 on cube counting😱. Anyone has a good method on cube counting?
Was anyone on the same boat? Did you improve later on? How long did it take you?
Ah!

how many total PATs have you taken? i took 2 practice PATs with kaplan before starting CDP and on my 5th CDP test, my timing improved significantly. so that's 7 tests later, lol. trust me, i thought it would never happen, just keep trying and pace yourself!

4 all together..funny thing is i get 17 on all of them..may be this is still not indicative of anything yet.. Tomorrow I am trying again and will keep posted.. Any good tricks on cube counting? Thanks.

i just took my 5th cdp and got a 20 after 18/17/18/17... hopefully our scores will go up on 6,7,8,9, and 10 🙂

17 isn't bad.. everyone says you do much better on the real test compared to CDP. cube counting is definitely tricky on CDP! i use the method in kaplan. make a table like this

1: tally however many cubes have 1 side painted
2: tally however many cubes have 2 sides painted
3: etc.....
4:
5:

then you can count them all up at the end and make sure the number of cubes matches the figure.

I got 18,18,19,20,21 on CDP, and ended up getting a 16 on the real thing. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, then practice some more. My real pat was extremely difficult. I know I seem out of the norm here, but the only thing you can control is how much you prepare, and you can never over prepare for the PAT, imo.

Yea, for me, angles, cube counting and hole punching are the easiest for me. Hole punching and cube counting should be your bread and butter. You should not miss any if you expect to do well, if you are not, then you are not thinking it through carefully, the harder ones are pattern folding, keyholes and Top-front-end so you should spend your time on those. Ranking easiest to hardest I'd say

cube counting
hole punching
angles
keyholes
TFE
pattern folding

You should breeze through the first 3 and spend most of your time on the last ones. So just practice to increase your speed.

Just wanted to brag a little--got a 20 on #5test on cdp !!!😛 (with 3min. over, however)
Yet, the cube counting is 7/15.. Tried the Kaplan method but I think it wastes my time. How is it working out for you guys?

cube counting is ALOT easier on the DAT than CDP, if I was you I'd practice a lot more on the other sections especially TFE. I think TFE is a little harder on the real DAT than CDP. just practice and you'll be fine. Also, don't waste all your. Take one you've already taken to bring up your confidence.

I'm having a terrible time with my speed on CDP. I finished my first test and got an 18, which I guess isn't too bad...but that's with guessing on 8 or so of the cube countings as well as a few of the hole punching because I was running out of time. Practice makes perfect I guess..lol

How are you practicing for them? What I did was took the first test went over all the things I missed and did not missed, waited a few days and practiced on the ones I sucked at Angles and Hole Punching. When I first started on the first test It took me 1 hr and 20 mins to finish and I got a 17, after I went through all of them with practices on on the week subjects, I took the second test and finished under the 60 min and got an 18. I think its just focusing on the weaker areas that would help overall.

Yea, today I will practice on the cube counting and the other (not sure which ones) which are given extra on cdp. The next few days will do the 4 left tests; after will look up only the wrong ones, and after that will redo all 10 test and I think of being done with cdp..in god's will🙂..
