Hi, fellas~

After 3 months of waiting (applied 10/09), I got invited for interview by Buffalo! I applied 17 schools and no interviews so far (5 rejections🙁). I just checked AADSAS and it changed "Invited for interview". There is no email yet from Buffalo.

Should I call them to make an appointment for interview right now or wait for an email and a letter from them?

OMG...even though this is not an acceptance letter, I'm so happy right now....
This is one of my dream schools. Love snow and cold weather~

And PLEASE, ladies and gentlemen of UB Class of 2012....let me know how the interview goes. What they asked, how the essay was...something like that...PLEASE~~🙂

Those who are still waiting for interviews...let's NOT give up!

My stats:
GPA: 3.15
scGPA: 3.14
MS GPA: 3.45 (Statistics)

DAT taken twice
PAT 24
AA 21
TS 20
BIO 21
GC 19
OC 19
RC 17
QR 29

Please, I need your HELP!🙂

Awesome! Buffalo rules, I'll probably be attending this fall. Congrats on your first interview, I'm actually surprised this is your first considering your excellent DAT.

Anyways, definitely call to set up your date. I didn't get the mail for like a week after the aadsas changed. As far as the essay, my question was 'how do you think the dental profession will change over the next 10 years,' but expect to get a different question, I know they cycle them. The interview was VERY laid back, I'd suggest looking at the interview feedback page because every question they asked me was right off that. It's very conversational and relaxed, so don't stress it at all. The rest of the day was easy too, tour of the campus, info about the school, lunch with students, got to see a cadaver too. One thing I'd say to prepare is a lot of questions about the school/dentistry in general. The student hang out for like 2 hours and are always looking to answer questions. They were very cool and very happy so don't be afraid to get into conversations with them about anything.

Good luck with your interview and shoot me a PM if you have anymore questions.

The essay is there for them to see that you can write something coherently and clearly. The interview will open file and there will be two people asking questions.

Thanks, guys...BTW,Danny0230, where can I find the interview feedback page? Do I need to search for it at SDN? I really want to rock the interview to get in~ And Congrats guys, for your acceptance of d-school!

Its on the top of the page where it says databases. Buffalo's a great school, very laid back environment. Make sure you know what professionalism is.. they seem to ask that at every interview. Good luck!

milkymonster, congrat, I think you got my spot, I cancel my interview for Jan 17 yesterday. If you want an early interview, you should call them asap and maybe could be interview on the 17th which I think will improve your chances of getting accepted

Although from what I hear, the interview feedback page hosts alot of questions they ask, I was not asked any of them. It was very easy and asked questions about my application and things I have done that may have prepared me for dental school. The one thing I would say that shocked me was the surrounding area of the south campus, it was a little bleek and not how most campus towns look like to me. I am also picky. It was probably the most laid back and enjoyable of all of my 6 interviews. Just be relaxed, be yourself, and you will be fine.

Thanks, everyone here for replies.

Right now, I`m a little bit nervous, but I`ll do my best for nice interview.
I hope to see you guys who will attend UB class of 2012!!

Anyone interviewing on the 10th? I'm flying off to Buffalo from Colorado tomorrow morning.

I just made an appointment. 2/14 thursday. That was the earliest I could. I wish that I could get earlier interview but still happy right now~ GL, everyone!

Good luck in the interview to everybody. Relax and just be yourself.

The writing prompt that I got was: "Why did your choose the major you chose?" They gave you ten minutes to write it. It's not too bad, don't stress out about it.

It began with them showing a brief video about Buffalo & their students. Then I had the essay writing. Shortly after, our personal interviews began. I was interviewed by two people at once - they were taking notes on individual papers. My interview felt really short, and it probably was really short. I didn't think I had a good interview, but I must have done something right because I got accepted. However, I declined my acceptance, so I hope you get my spot. 🙂

Let me know if you need any more help preparing for your Buffalo interview. From my impression of the school on my interview day, it seemed like a really great school to go to.

I remember that question! I can't recall what I wrote but it was one of the topics that I had to write about.
