hey guys,

i just had a couple of questions about what kind of letters stony brook requires for admission (i just tried calling their office but no one answered, and the mailbox is full 😕). i know that they require 3 letters from senior science faculty...i have been doing research with a senior research associate through the department of ophthalmology and was wondering if he would qualify as a letter of recommendation. also, one of my classes this semester has 2 professor teaching it (one teaches the first half, then the 2nd professor teaches the 2nd half). would both of them count toward the letters of recommendation, or would only one of them be accepted for this class? thanks in advance for your help 🙂

You can have anyone who knows you well enough in your sciences classes or research department to write a letter or recc. your research prof seems like a good idea and can explain your strengths as a scientist and how they will make you a good clinician. I would ask one of the profs out of the two to write one....it's the same class and if you don't know them too well, I don't think it matters. Your letters can be sent individually depending on the school or what most schools want is the health committee letter which combines the letters from your profs.

anyone else have any idea...? or has anyone actually spoken to anyone at stony brook? i've tried calling all of the numbers on their website but no one seems to answer 😕
