Stony Brook Letters?

I was recently at Stony Brook for an interview about 2 1/2 weeks ago, and was told that the letters would be coming in at the 2 week mark but nothing has came in. I was wondering if anyone who applied had received anything from them.

Also I wanted to know if anyone knows how Sports Therapy is at Stony Brook whether the opportunities at clinicals are great or some classes tie in with sports therapy.

I tried calling them today but the office was closed. I'll try calling again tomorrow.


But as far as my sports question. My long term goal is to be a sports team physical therapist. I was wondering what the opportunities with sports clinicals are like at Stony Brook, or if they are more geared toward sports PT since they do have an Sports Orthopaedic Division, how is it compared to LLU?

Any information would be great!

I have spoken to Rich Johnson and they are behind in notifying students about acceptances. We all won't get an official letter for another couple of days. I would say the end of this week or the beginning of next week.

im going out to the southampton campus on friday. I think im honestly going to end up going there. When i spoke to them they said they would like for me to go there. I went to Stony brook for undergrad and i liked it but i think a change of scenery would be nice. Also the idea that all the equipment will be brand new doesn't hurt either. From what i hear its a beautiful campus, and the hamptons in the summer/spring time are great. I know that no matter what campus you attend the program will be the same curriculum and i wouldnt expect the faculty to be anything short than great. So excited to begin PT school!

Got my official letter today! They don't do deposits, but if they did I would have sent one in! Anyone else definitely going?

I am definitely going, highly considering the southampton campus as well. I would probably say i will end up going there. Anybody else considering southampton?

Yes, Stony Brook is definite. I plan on calling on Wednesday to discuss which campus, but I am strongly considering South Hampton.

Has anyone interviewed on Feb 22 heard yet? I believe they said 2-3 weeks, but I was curious if that was an overestimation.

I am going to Stony Brook South Hampton. According to the information I got from my parents, who visited the South Hampton campus for me, everyone goes to Stony Brook, the main campus for the first summer semester, and starts in the fall at the South Hampton Campus, for those of us who decided on South Hampton.

Hi Everyone! I can't wait to meet everybody! I was accepted and am going to be attending the Stony Brook location, although, I did visit the Southampton location and thought it was a lovely space! Does anyone know anything about a possible Facebook group for the DPT Class of 2016? I think it would be a good way to connect!

Also, I had some general questions too......like when the first day of classes were, when would we be able to move into an on-campus apartment, are we going to receive packet information in the mail, etc, etc, etc. So, far, the only thing I've done is log onto Solar to indicate I was attending.

For those of you who interview 2/22, I'd presume you'd be hearing back sometime soon, they notify you through a phone call (as mentioned elsewhere) and/or letter. Best of Luck!!
