Okay, if you're a student/alumni of Stony Brook's PT program, or know someone that was, can you give me a description of what student life is like for those that attended, and what it's like going to school in that area? Cost of living, things to do, what the people are like, anything you consider relevant.

Since interviews for that program are now finished, if you've been accepted and are considering the program (as I am), let's hear why you're interested in the program.

Oh man! I had to hear my rejection from Stony Brook from a SDN member: blazersfan22. LOL. its Feb 9th, and I havent heard anything from Stony Brook. Since you said interviews are finished, guess they are taking awhile for my rejection letter =(

anyone know other places in the tri-state area that finished their interviews? thanks

well I got an Interview from Stony brook but rejected it as their prog. is 143.5 credits which is wayyyyyyyy wayyyyyyyyyyyy higher thn UMDNJ,NYIT and LIU.
Its state uni. but when u calculate total money you will end up paying same as you paying in private bcz. of their credits.

i think you're wrong about that pt dream, because comparing the curriculums, stony brook basically offers the exact same courses as most of the others. i think they just assign more credits to each course, so it appears that you're taking more. it's still a 3-year program like the others. but yea, the cost is about the same as any other private school for out-of-staters. have you heard much about the professors? i'm having a difficult time distinguishing between good and excellent professors based upon their research, which seems like one of the only ways other than the obvious (do they have clinical specialties, pHD, DPTs, etc.)
