Please stop posting USMLE scores on this forum and asking "is this good enough" this apply's double to anyone over 215. There is an FAQ at the top of this page that has many links to USMLE scores and what you need for each tier. USMLE scores are only 1 part of you application so its a good start but by no means predicts whether or not you will get a residency.

To summarize once and for all

>230 - interview at top programs
215-229 - interviews at most of the upper tier programs
205-214 - you should get a lot of interviews to middle tier programs
<204 - interviews at lower tier places

These are by no means hard and fast rules, just best guesses. Always remember your application is more than just your USMLE score and also depends on LORs, 3rd year grades, and away rotations.

For more information CHECK THE FAQ!!! The modarators of this forum have put together a very good FAQ and it is packed w/tons of useful information. Most answers to questions about applying to anesthesia are answered in there.

So are you saying that if a scored a 256 on Step 1 and a 310 on step 2, I will probably get at least one interview? 😉

I'm sick of those posts, too!

W/scores like that you should try applying to some communty programs but make sure you have back up plan like IM just in case

i actually think the faq section kind of sucks. the responses are old and may no longer apply, and many of the links are dead. plus the responses are from a different applicant pool. i don't think there is anything wrong asking questions that are already on the faq and seeing what this group of students thinks.
