Yeah, the 300+ horses at the barn are in quarantine. What makes it worse, is I do not think the yard is doing all they can to limit it ? to me they have just not isolated the sick horses enough, they continue to share hoses, feed/manure carts with the sick and healthy horses. They also are still spreading all the manure on the exercise track. I guess it is time to bring out my thermometer, Vaseline, and Hydrogen Peroxide and keep my fingers crossed!

oh my god, 300+ horses?

That sounds unbelievably fustrating. Didn't have anything to add other than my sympathy. I know how fustrating it is when you have sick animals. 🙁

Right now there are only 10 cases (dotted around the yard), it grew from 2 on Friday. The problem is it just spreads so easily, and there is so little you can do about it.

I have 7 horses under my care right now. 5 belong to a friend who is out of town, and the vet had to come out last week due to colic! The other 2, have been in barns that has had it before, and did not catch it, so we are optimistic.

I just replaced my fishing line on my thermometer ? so hopefully my thermometer is not going to get lost up any bottoms.
