Stressed About OAT

I haven't taken the OAT and plan on taking it in January. Is it too late already? What are my chances? My gpa is 3.85 and I've worked as an Optometric Technician for 2 1/2 years. I have a lot of volunteer hours and have went on a 5 week medical/dental mission trip. However, I don't do well on standardized tests and I'm really stressed it might be my downfall. Any suggestions? How much do they weigh on the OAT?

It first depends on where you want to go.

With that in mind at this point in the game I'd say as long as you get 320 ish range you'd be alright (considering your GPA and ECs), meaning you will get in somewhere. If you get below a 300 or in that area I'd say you chances are slim (but not zero).

What I say is no means what will actually happen. I'm just giving you my opinion that your chances will be a little smaller since its this late in the cycle, but as long as you do alright on the OAT you should be sitting well.

Call the schools you want to apply to and ask. They will give you the straight dope.
