Hi everyone

I did a search but had trouble finding info on this

Are there any schools that are really strict about the LOR requirement? My school uses a letter of recommendation service where they make one packet with all my letters and then send them out to the schools I want. I already have 4 letters in there. I think the whole packet is sent to any school I apply to...so even if a secondary says they only want 3, they will get em all.

Is there something I should do about this, or is it nothing to worry about? I was actually about to get another one, but I just thought of this dilemma. Any ideas?

Gracias

My school did the same thing - I wouldn't worry about it. It can only help in terms of taking some of the stress off your shoulders by having someone else take care of your LOR crap.

No, this is one area where it doesn't really matter. Usually schools will ask you to specify on the secondary which letters you're going to use to fulfill their requirements and will only look at those, so it's not going to be an issue.

Most schools are relatively flexible. I didn't have a non-science letter and applied and received interviews at schools that "required" one.

Having said that, I would try to follow the guidelines as closely as possible.
