1) Patient with stroke. Determine whether it's hemorrhagic or ischemic.
2) If it's hemorrhagic, the etiologies are dependent on location.
-basal ganglia/internal capsule region: etiology is hypertension (hyaline arteriosclerosis)
-rest of brain parenchyma: etiology is cerebral amyloid angiopathy
3) If it's basal ganglia (hyaline arteriosclerosis due to hypertension)
-less than 1mm is Charcot Bouchard
-less than 1cm is called lacunar
I could be totally wrong. Help please! I never get these questions right 😕
