sorry, I can't help but laugh - that was exactly what I thought but I didn't post it! (partially because I thought it might just be me and biochem not being friends!)
everyone knows voet and voet is a lot better. had him as a professor...he's kinda a boring guy but he does get the job done....he also has this big beer gut and looks like a chipmunk
Lehniingers was OK. I used it as an undergraduate. But as someone said earlier Voet and Voet is the best IMHO. I used that one in graduate school although the undergraduates at Carolina use it as well (at least they use to). I also like Devlin which is full of clinical correlations.

which voet/voet are u talking about? there's a thick 3 inch version and a thinner 1.5 inch version. i'ved used both v/v 3 inch and stryer in biochem. i thought stryer was pretty decent.. v/v however was dense and like reading an encyclopedia. it's not a book u'd want to read to learn about the overall picture of biochem when u're learning it the first time.
