Hi everyone.
So, I am currently stuck I do not know whether I should continue pursing Pharmacy or find something new. My issue is that I have taken a few pre-reqs but have not done great something always happened whether it was finical issues with the family or a death of a family member which took my attention off of classes.
I have taken so far Gen Chem 1, Bio 1, A&P and gen chem 2. Here is the break down.
* Chem 1- taken 4 times, D+, C-, C- and B+. ( my school follows the plus/minus system you must have a Solid C or better to advance to chem 2).
* Biology 1- taken 4 times as well. F, F, W, D+. taking currently and will get C-, C.
*Chem 2- Once. D+, taking again probably B, B+.
*A&P- one time probably C. D.
I'm sure everyone is thinking "WOwwww!!!" I am being honest when I say this almost every semester something has happened from finical to death in family. This semester it was none of that rather a medical condition which effected my grades in bio and a&p. hopefully Chem 2 will be ok.
I have been working in a pharmacy as a PCTB tech for about 3-4 years now.
LoR- I will be getting some this summer.
Volunteering- Will also be doing this summer.
I plan on taking Organic this summer then organic 2 in the fall. and also taking the Pcat this summer after organic 1.
Current overall gpa- 2.65
So, if anybody has been in this position or know of anybody who has been I would love to know how they dealt with it whether they got into pharmacy school or gave up on pharmacy.
To be honest I do not want to give up on Pharmacy but also do not want to waste time.
I just need to know what to do honestly I am scared Idk what to do at this moment I just need help. And anybody who can provide me with some advise I would truly appreciate it.

My notes are in bold. I'm not a Dr. Feelgood here but I hope some "tough love" will knock some sense into you. P.s. it's advice =p.

The first step is in realizing that you are the only one that has caused you to "have not done great." Death happens, bad stuff happens.. I bet every single person who has gotten into any professional program has had a death in the family or some other similar dilemma. You can use your experiences to your advantage or you can keep on going down the same path and expect people to feel sorry for you (most ad coms won't).

You really need to buckle down and determine what is really causing your failure. Is it your study habits? Is it lack of discipline? Procrastination? I'm sorry death and financial troubles won't qualify as valid reasons. If you can't make it through tough times in undergrad what kind of message will that send to the admissions committee? They want to know that you can handle yourself in the face of adversity so that they can be sure you'll make it through professional school.

There are plenty of "I failed horribly but still made it into Pharmacy" sob stories all over these forums. TBH I would avoid them like the plague. I will tell you right now that if you get serious and buckle down, work your ass off, perform well in the remaining classes you have left (not saying you need straight A's even), get good LoRs, and write an amazing PS then you can still get into pharmacy school somewhere. Hell all your "adversity" can be used to really set you apart from the pack if you can learn to overcome your issues and get on the right track. You could then always say.. look at what I've learned, look at how far I've come, how much I have matured, what I've discovered about myself.. etc, etc in your PS. Or you can keep thinking you're the only one having a hard time in life and try to get by on the sob story tactic. Apparently it does work for some.. I just wouldn't want to put my future on a roll of the dice like that. Good luck, and if you ever want a good kick in the proverbial ass, feel free to PM me!

You will get in some where, because everyone does nowadays. However, you really need to take a long look in the mirror and figure out if this is what you want to do. Re-taking gen chem/bio 4 times? Those classes you should be able to pass in your sleep with at least a C.

Your re-takes also show that you are not improving much at all. This will definitely catch the attention of adcoms everywhere.
