Hi everyone, I apologize if this has already been answered but I couldn't find an answer for this specific question.

Were you ever the recipient of any action (e.g. a grade lowering penalty, failing grade, dismissal, disqualification, suspension, probation, etc.) by any faculty member, college or university for academic or professional misconduct or unacceptable academic performance?

I've done a lot of research on this forum and it looks like this question is geared towards academic dishonesty and the like. However, I am unsure what counts as "professional conduct". For example, I was written up for having alcohol in a residential hall my sophomore year, and I was written up for another minor situation. Do you think these incidents would qualify as professional misconduct?

Thanks in advance!

I don't think a residence hall citation counts. That's like the college equivalent of getting a parking ticket. I think they're looking for bigger things like cheating or if you did something to actually get dismissed from the school. Or, if you had so many small citations that the school took formal disciplinary action against you.

Professional misconduct...I would think something like stealing, sexual harassment at your place of work...?

If you think it was a very small issue and never got any official documentation about it, then don't add it to your application.
