Hi everyone, I have a student interview coming up, and I am not really sure what to expect. If anyone has any experience with these or any advice before going into it, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

For most matters, treat the student interviewer as you would the faculty interviewer. Applicants sometimes get a little bit too relaxed/comfortable with the student interviewer and end up making inappropriate remarks. Ultimately, they are there to evaluate your application like everyone else. Unlike faculty interviewers who can be years or decade(s) removed from the application process and medical school, student interviewers can give you up-to-date information on student life, classes, rotations and the like.*
* Unless you're interviewing with a first year student who just started a few months ago, then it's the blind leading the blind. 🙂
It's no different than your other interviews and their evaluation likely holds equal weight as the other faculty's post-interview feedback in the decision process. They're there to figure out if they would want to call you a colleague and belong at/fit in with the student body at their school.
