I won't need anything more than the Stafford, but I'm kind of confused.

Myrichuncle.com has the Stafford for 5.8% at repayment. Does that mean that it's at 6.8% while in school and then when I start paying, it drops to 5.8%? They never explicitly say this, but always say 5.8% at repayment.

I saw the MEDLOANS, is this any diff than any other Stafford lender?

Depends on the lender. Some have a discount while you are in school, some do the discounts after, some do them all the time. Some compound the interest while in school, some don't. It can get confusing, but be sure to look at all the details for each loan.

Which lenders have discounted interest throughout?

from what i understand myrichuncle is 6.8% throughout school and 5.8% when you start repayment. (also decreases bye 0.25% if you do auto-debit). after 48 on-time payments or so you get an additional -1.5% contingent on being on time with your payments.

aamc medloans is the only loan i am aware of that is 6.5% at disbursement. i am unsure if this discount continues with every disbursement. then, it is -0.75% from 6.8 for auto-debit and an additional -1% at the first on-time payment until you miss a payment and then there is a work-your-butt-off period to get that -1% back.

i am trying to decide between these two loans and maybe some others. any opinions, experience, corrections, comments, whatever, would be helpful to me as well! 🙂

I went with medloans for the reduced in school rate and the one time application of interest. Then I plan to consolidate after graduation to the company with the best repayment terms.
