how do you make that in 10 weeks in a family practice? So you make over 350k?
No, I don't make 350K because I usually take about 3-4 months off throughout the year to be with my husband and kids. $75,000 divided by 10 weeks is $7500 week. I work rural medicine locums where I do full scope clinic, ER coverage, call, inpatient and nursing home. I have been working in Alaska where the need is great and the number of physicians with an Alaskan license few. I work as many hours as I can when I am there since I am the relief help and have nothing else to do. I get paid by the hour. My weekly pay fluctuates of course but $7500/week is my average, sometimes more, sometimes less. I could easily make more if I never took vacation time but that leads to burnout. Also need to take time for CME and conference.
I have 4 active state licenses so have a lot of variety of jobs presented to me and can pick and choose which ones will give me the most hours possible working for my time there.
Excuse my ignorance but whats pcp? PCP stands for primary care provider = your regular doctor, either FP or IM
