hello everyone,

I have an idea that has been carried out by students at many other med schools, but not mine. I want to set up a website completely run by the students-for the students. This site would include general advice, transcripts, lecture podcasts, old exams, etc. There are other folks at my school interested in starting this up, and I was wondering if anyone out there with experience can offer any advice/caveats to consider with this project. Your help would be immensely appreciated. Thanks.

I have no experience with a site like this, but I would be extremely careful about lecture materials being posted, including mp3s. Some, although not all, professors are very protective over what they consider their intellectual property from lecture. You will probably have to get written permission to post anything like that, either from the department as a whole, or the individual profs.
