when i interviewed i think i stayed at a best western in the center city area. temple is in north philly, which not only doesnt have many hotels, but wouldnt be amenable to staying overnight anyway. stay somewhere in center city, and when you make the reservation make sure its close to broad st. that way you can wake up in the morning and just take the subway. the people making your reservation (or at that specific hotel) should be able to say the hotel is close to the Race-Vine, Market, or Walnut stops to the subway, and your hotel should ideally be w/in 5 blocks of any of those stops.
cab rides from the airport to center city are $20 solid, or if you dont have the dinero you can take the R1 train to Market East station for about 5 bucks. you will not need to rent a car.
as for the ops ?, i have no idea what to say to such an open ended ?, other than the staff is dedicated to teaching and that temple students tend to be more human and cooperative than jeff and drexel, and frequently upenn kids. the teaching gets better each year at temple, but clinically it totally shines -- the people who teach do it b/c they love it, and it shows.
very broad question....as a first year student I would have to say that it is nice to only have class until noon. A LOT of opportunity for hands on expereince. How much you want to do is up to you. And many of the doctors allow you to do a lot. Faculty is very receptive to feedback.
