Studies on trend on salary?

Anyone know of any major studies that studies physician salary trend in the past like 50 yrs or so? We've all heard ppl say that physician salaries have dropped a lot in the past decades, but Ive never seen any study on it. Anyone?

For some fields, there is an increase and for others there's a decrease. On average, salaries remained the the same.

So have CT surgery and general surgery. Ortho, GI, EM, and FM on the other hand have seen an increase.

I think the much more important question is the ratio of attending salary to level of student debt.
