study abroad...science classes?

Has anyone had any experience with doing a study abroad program while taking some science courses such as Microbio? I only have one more semester left and only need to take micro this next fall to be able to apply to the few schools that require it (have taken all the other pre reqs)...anyone have any past experience, will schools accept study abroad credits for science courses? I'm planning on calling adcoms..but i figure i'd get sdn's thoughts as well. I would really like to get out of this little college town.

Don't you usually get your institutions college credit for study abroad courses taken at foreign institutions? In that case schools wouldn't even know you took the course abroad.

this fall will be my last semester of school...(i'm a non traditional student...graduated a few years back and just banged out all my pre reqs the last year and a half; so fall 2012 is my last semester) but i've heard both ways; i guess i've got some hw to do.

Some schools will state that they don't want pre reqs taken outside of the US or Canada. So you can check out the websites of schools you're interested in. If that info is not provided/clear, then you can contact admissions. Or even better, you can get in touch with a pre dental advisor at your school and see what he/she has to say.

I did a full year's worth of physics including lab through the EAP program at the University of Sussex in England. It showed up on my UCI transcript, likely because I signed up for the program through my school. Highly recommend it btw, great experience.
