Study for Step 2 v. Early AI

MSIII here with my last block of 3rd year free... would it be better to use that last month as a vacation month and study for Step 2... or get ahead of other classmates and do an AI after just completing my core clerkships? It's early in the game so I don't have any clinical rotation grades yet, Step 1 was a 228, and I'm considering something in IM for residency. Just wanted some opinions.

if you're happy with your step 1 score, then taking step 2 this early has very little to add and could potentially be damaging if you somehow don't do as well or better. if you're not happy, then study hard, do better, and report the score on ERAS to up your chances during the match.

Just don't do anything.

Why do an AI or take Step 2? Internal med isn't hard to get into at all.
