Hey Guys,
How do you study for this? How much material do you use? How many hrs put in? And what do you find effective?
Thanks
Joe

There is no "correct" method, but this has been helpful for me thus far:

1) Read the Kaplan Blue Book to brush up on your sciences.
2) Study the DAT Destroyer in and out, making notecards or your own notes on all of the concepts presented. Be sure to have all of your textbooks (Gen. Chem., Orgo., Bio.) on hand, because you will need them for background information.
3) Test and familarize yourself with the DAT, using Topscore or DAT Achiever.

Listed below is where you can find the mentioned study materials:

As for how many hours to put in, it depends on the person. Some people study as little as 3 weeks, others put in well over 6 months. With that said, 3 months should be enough time to get ready for the test. If possible, treat your studying like a job: study 5 days a week, 5-8 hours a day, taking at least two days off a week to prevent burn out.

I agree with most of what busupshot83 says. I would also add that kaplan should probably be your main study guide with things like destroyer and topscore being tools you use to fine tune your perperation after you have gone through the kaplan material. The one area that kaplan is a little weak in is the biology section, so you may want to get another resource to go to for those areas that kaplan doesn't cover enough. I suggest either Schaum's outline of biology or Cliff's AP biology.

Also, 2.5 to 3 months of studying is probably ideal, but if you feel really comfortable with your science background and you study hard, I think you could be ready to take the DAT in a month to 6 weeks, but you will need to be intense with your studying during that time.

Schaum's Outline of Biology
Cliff's AP Biology

Guys thanks for your suggestions, Yea, I put in close to 5hrs daily, I'm just running through all lecture notes and using the texts as the main source to brush up. I'm planning to go through kaplan blue book and I already started solving g-chem and orgo problems in the destroyer..So far so good, thank you for your help..
