Looking at the upcoming schedule, taking the DAT in August of 2015 might be the most logical time to take the test, currently a sophomore and have taken or currently taking bio, chem, O-Chem, vertebrate anatomy, genetics, physics, calc and stats. Apply summer 2016 for fall 2017 start. It appears that most people seem to take the DAT winter/spring before they apply so is August too "early"? Will be going on a mission trip with school in May and having surgery in early June so the likelihood of getting a summer job is slim since most people will not hire someone only able to work mid-June through July (back on Campus August 3rd for orientation/training for RA's). Plan is to shadow and volunteer and study for the DAT for the summer.

Plan B would be to study over winter break and take the DAT in January/February.

Thoughts?

just be sure you set aside at least two months of hardcore studying. If your able to do this in the summer than take it in aug. but do not rush yourself and only take it when your ready. In the meantime it wouldn't be a bad idea to do some PAT practice here and there whenever you have some down time. It will give you a head start. For instance, im sure you have at least 5 hours a week to spend on studying. Take advantage of that and stay on the grind. It will all be worth it for when you jump into your schedule come the summer
