Study Resourses for Step 2CS

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
1. The first thing I suggest is to go thru First Aid. The mini-cases are just as important and helpful as the practice cases.

2. Then, you can check out UW. Don't need to in my opinion... but, if you have extra time it always helps to look at more practice cases. The cases I had were not straight from the practice cases in FA.

3. I think 2-3 weeks is plenty of time to prepare. For some, just a week is enough as well. Depends on how efficiently you did H&Ps during 3rd year (including writing the note) because the time constraints in my opinion is the main reason why the exam can make people nervous.

4. Additional advice: practice having a strong introduction (you want to come across as confident and empathetic from the get go). Come up with a generic closing in case you run out of time--this will help you loads!! Also, don't forget to smile. A smile goes a long way...

Hope this helps. If you have more questions just ask me. I found out yesterday I passed and for two months agonized over whether I would or not. Rghhh.... but hey, it's over now and would like to give tips to anyone if he/she needs any.

I didn't trust the other posters on here, but everyone is right -all you need is First Aid CS, that's it. I read through the whole thing in one weekend. Started reading friday, finished sunday night. Took the test on Monday. Just got my score - PASS. I was nervous that I hadn't done enough for the test, so I was frantically looking for posts on people who studied only a little and passed the night before. If you are a US medical student and have done all your core clerkships, you won't have a problem - 96% pass rate, I don't know any other test we'll ever take with those types of odds. Read First Aid, take the test, and enjoy the Pass.
