I have gen chem, gen bio, organic chem textbooks, are they good sources to study from? or do they have too much extra stuff. there are so many books for DAT and each have good and bad reviews so i thought textbooks would be adequate as well. but for PAT i will have to get a book, any suggestions? thanks. also let me know if you are selling anything.

There's an upside and a downside to using textbooks to study for the DAT:
Upside: Of course, they're great sources of information. After all, they are textbooks.
Downside: You don't need that much information to do well on the DAT; plus, using textbooks as to study for the DAT will be extremely time consuming.
For PAT, Crack DAT PAT is a good software to have.

I second what nze said. The right balance between upside and downside can be struck if you use the right textbooks - or at least something approximating the right balance. You want to use an "Orgo For Premeds" textbook, for instance, like Carey. In that case you'll be learning more than you need for the DAT, but not by a lot.

Yea! You can either waste all that time trying to find the right balance or simply purchase few of the review books that everyone else out there is using and save yourself lots and lots of time, which you could be using to study!
