How do you actually get through? I know this might seem redundant to some of you, but this is my Achilles's heel. Any time I try to study for math, about 15 minutes in I'll get distracted, look out the window for a little bit, daydream, and end up staring at the problems because to me, it appears dull and uninteresting.

Which in turn directly affects the effectiveness of my studying, and by extension my performance in math (and my GPA!). Which is really starting to concern me. :scared:

...how do you get "through" it?

Whenever I have to study math, I look at the problem and tell it....

WIN!

yeah, math is tough, i always set goals for myself but never reach them... for example, i would say, okay i am going to do at least 10 problems before i do anything else, but i'd be up and walking around or browsing the internet on the 7th question...

VCUdental is right

math=distraction central

put your desk in a corner facing the wall and bite the bullet

put yourself in a time condition ALWAYS, even if you know you don't reach it.
when you get distracted tell yourself that: "I do not ever EVER want to study for this test EVER again, so i'd better suck it up NOW and get my A** back on it"

It worked for me :meanie:
