I was wondering, for those of you who have recently finished step 1... did you study at "home" (where you grew up / where your family is) or at school? I know that my family can be distracting sometimes, but I also find that sometimes my classmates stress me out when they're all in study mode. What did you find helpful to you?

Something else I was considering was to instead sublet a room for a month in the city where I did my undergrad, because it is closer to where I grew up but also gives me some distance away from my family (I could probably see them on the weekend instead or something).

Any thoughts, pros and cons of each?

Are you in your study period? Why not just study in a library and stay at home? I think it depends what kind of person you are. If you are someone who stresses being around other stressed people, then staying at school isn't a good idea.

I was wondering this same thing. There's convenience with both situations but I feel like most of the 2nd years I know stayed at school for the test.

Honestly, I'm going to lock myself in a room with an uncomfortable chair, a desk, an alarm clock, and no other distractions. I've already apologized to my fiancee in advance for neglecting her, but it needs to be done.

I don't think it matters where you are as long as you can minimize distractions as much as possible.

Will be hard for her to resist you, if you look like your avatar.

We had a nice mix. Some people went home, and were able to convince their families that it's not okay to bug them while they're studying. That wouldn't have worked at my house, so I opted to stay at school. Some did stay at school and studied at their apartments because they needed to be alone--without the stress of either their families or classmates. I studied in the school library because I did need that motivation to keep studying, especially after a week of it. I would not have studied as much as I had if I had studied at my apartment.

You need to figure out what works best for you.
