How much should residency reapplicants focus on getting this out of the way? I imagine it helps to show the programs, "hey, I passed step 3; one less thing for you to worry about," but as an ophtho reapplicant, I'm pretty far removed from IM, OB/Gyn, and peds at this point, and feel like some time in an actual internship (as opposed to research, which is what I'll be doing) would be rather helpful. Especially with things like the ccs portion. Are these valid fears, or is it easy to study your way back and do well on the exam despite feeling like I've forgotten everything about medicine outside the eyeball?
