how do you guys study from the NBMEs?

I was going to make a PowerPoint for my wrong answers....

But I find it to be such a waste of time to try and go through each question and find answers online, etc. I'd rather just do UW questions. What do you guys think? Is it really worth the extra energy? If so, how do you go about studying off the NBME questions (other than studying the two-three weakest subjects).

Is it worth it to look up answers to questions that have been tested before and can show up on your actual step 1? Nope, not at all.

I will expound on this a little bit more than wordead did, although his short answer of yes (albeit sarcastic) is correct.

I would review all the questions you missed and try to understand why you missed it. Was it a silly mistake, if so how can you prevent that from happening (i.e. read the full question, there was an error in understanding what the question was asking) or was it a concept you are not as familiar with? When I went through my answers I made sure to spend a decent amount of time reviewing the concepts behind the questions I missed since clearly I was having problems with them. Also, you might not be able to/want to do this, but as I went through the test (when I was actually taking it) if I came upon a question that I had to guess on (even if I was able to narrow it down to just a few answer choices) I made a really quick note of the topic so that I could go back and review it in case I got the question right (meaning it didn't show up for me to review later). If you are struggling to finish the sections in enough time you may not want to do that but I had about ~10 minutes to spare everytime so I felt it was worth it to take a few extra seconds to make note of anything I was struggling with.

For both uworld and NBME, I just typed up a word document with short bullets of the things I missed. I tried to review this document every night and feel it really helped me cement the subjects I had been struggling with.
