My name is Michelle, currently studying Optometry in the Netherlands. I am thinking of visiting America next February for an internship. So I hope to get some advice from everyone. Because what is the nicest place for my internship? I was thinking of Bloomington or Boston? What do you think? And is it easy to get a room to stay in February? I hope to get some tips!

Greetings Michelle

You should be able to find a room, but start early. I think Boston and Indiana will be cold, really cold. Now California, nice and mild.

Boston Hands Down between the choices you listed, Indiana=boring.

Hi Chelle,

We had a girl in Bloomington last spring from the Netherlands. Maybe she is the class ahead of you? (Agnita?) I hung out with her a few times and she was really cool. I need to email her soon because I havent in a while. Bloomington is a small town and not a lot going on. It is close to Indianapolis and you would see the city when they would send you up to the Indy clinic. But its not really anything special either, especially in Feb. Agnita went up to Chicago once or twice with some of my classmates and really had fun up there. I laughed when I heard she was surprised at our grocery stores, how we have a whole aisle for just chips and pop. LOL!!!

PM me if you have more questions about Bloomington. I did 8 years time there 🙂

Hi,

Thanx for answering my questions! And yes, I know Agnita, she is one class ahead of me. I heard some nice stories about her visit to Bloomington. I decided to come with a friend in February, so from now on I have to organize a lot. So, if I have some questions, you will here from me. And do you have an idea if it is difficult to find a furnished room for two people at or near the campus??

Greetings Michelle
