So I have a bunch of stupid little questions about the CS exam that I will be taking soon. I woud appreciate it if anyone could answer any of them.

So I'm checking out of my hotel that morning and not renting a car. Does the test center in Houston have a place we can store our bags? If not what did everyone else do?

Does it really matter if we write vs. type?

So we only take our stetoscope and white coat.

What about bringing a reflex hammer?

Did anyone have to do a eye exam?
hearing exam(rhine/weber,otoscope)?
Neuro exam?
Musculoskeletal exam?
reflexes?
MMSE?

So I'm checking out of my hotel that morning and not renting a car. Does the test center in Houston have a place we can store our bags? If not what did everyone else do? You will get a small locker to keep small personal items in such as your keys, laptop etc. It is recommended that you don't bring your luggage to testing centers. However, most hotels, as a courtesy service, will hold your luggage at the front desk for no extra fee (at least, that has been my experience whenever I travel for meetings)

Does it really matter if we write vs. type? No, it doesn't. Do whatever you're most comfortable with. Most people can type way faster than they can write though...besides, editing is easier done on a computer.

So we only take our stetoscope and white coat. Yup.

What about bringing a reflex hammer? Don't do it.

Did anyone have to do a eye exam? Depends. Sure if it's related to the pt's complaint. Remember, you will be asked to perform a "focused exam".
hearing exam(rhine/weber,otoscope)? Ditto.
Neuro exam? Ditto.
Musculoskeletal exam? Ditto.
reflexes? Ditto.
MMSE? Ditto.

Remember, you only get 15 minutes to interview, do the exam, answer the pt's questions and summarize. You don't want to get bogged down doing unnecessary exams as that 15 mins disappears pretty quickly.

Maybe someone on this thread will have more intelligent answers for you.

Goodluck.
