So I was wondering what everyone includes on their CV's? I had my acadamia CV and now adding stuff that I am doing in vet school sometimes seems odd. Do you guys include all your club participation and wet labs you have participated in or only clubs you are officers of? Do you include random things like Dummy Foal watch? Just trying to get an idea of how detailed I should go.

Thanks!

You can always list in detail the clubs you were officer in and just list the remaining clubs later.

I included the clubs that I was an officer of with descriptions of duties, but not everything that I participated in. I feel like that would be very cluttered and doesn't have the benefit of showing leadership ability like officer positions.

Bumping this thread to ask another question:

At what point is it generally acceptable to move from a resume to a CV? I'm putting together my resume in hopes of finding some work this summer but wasn't sure if I should be looking at a CV instead after 2nd year.

What did you guys do?

By my definition, they're the same thing.......what are you thinking about changing?

I was thinking the CV was more academic, so I wasn't sure if I should be providing more detail into my relevant coursework for vet school or not and the skills I've gained directly from that education. Right now my institution and class year are on there along with the bachelor's degree I have, but that's all I have other than school-related leadership positions and awards. (plus the usual work experience, volunteer work).

I was planning on incorporating that more after 3rd year and 4th year since my curriculum is rather rigid before then, but I'm not sure if veterinary employers actually want more detail or not?

I, if I were hiring, would not care about the specifics of your coursework......I know what's involved in vet school, and I know approximately what you are learning when. As you said, other school-related things are important (awards, clubs, etc), but the specific courses are kind of assumed. Lean more on your interests, volunteer work, and past work experience.
