Stupid Question probably.....

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
....but still gotta ask it:

Am a new user here, and have seen more than a few people refer to Howard and Meharry as being only for "URM"
.which im guessing is Under Represented Minority..?

But what exactly entitled someone to that classification?
I'm asking because I was thinking of applying to one or both of those schools, and dont want to if im not the "right" race they look for, etc.

😕

Not white, not Indian, not Asain,... probably a few more

The 2 schools mentioned also target kids with disadvantage backgrounds (lived in ghetto, troubled teens with law whom later pulled their college years together, worked throughout teenage years to support family, poverty, etc etc)
