I got into two programs for this summer.

1. STUUR (Student training in Undergraduate Urological Research @ UMBC, UMB, & JHU)
- Stipend: 4500
- Publication
- Work closely with 2 P.I.'s
- Only 9 people accepted

2. SMDEP @ Yale
- Stipend (I think it's between 1000-2000, not sure)
- Experience into Application process/MCAT
- Get to meet fellow premeds
- Probably more than 30 people

Which one should I do?

This, but I know someone who did SMDEP at Duke last year and said it wasn't really worth it. Didn't learn much and the professors didn't seem to care about the students. But take this with a grain of salt, because it was at a completely different site, plus my friend's interests may not be the same as yours.

If I were you, I'd definitely take the research position as it seems to give better benefits.

When did you apply? Do you know if they have sent out all acceptances yet? I literally just applied and was wondering if I had any chance... 🙁

Wasn't the application deadline the 27th? For STUUR? They've been sending out rolling applications for about a week now. I don't know if everyone has heard back yet, but they're definitely finishing it off by either today or tomorrow.

Yes it was. I was allowed to apply late. Probably didn't get in though if they've been having rolling admissions for the last week or so.... 🙁
