I have a question from attending physicians and residents. I have a pretty bad stutter. I am an IMG. My stutter is bad to the point that I have blocks and my head starts moving when I speak and I don't make eye contact. When I am on the phone people usually get frustrated or think the signal is bad. In medical school, I never did any presentations except twice which went very badly. All the classes we had to present I talked to teachers to just give me a C. I have heard in America residents do a lot of presentations and have to speak to a lot of patients. I would like to know do you guys think I would have any chance working in America? I have been very frustrated. I am bringing any excuse I can not work as a doctor due to this reason. I was even thinking about changing careers completely and study accounting since it doesn't have much talking. I would really appreciate if you could give me an HONEST opinion on my situation.
