Hi everyone,

I was just wondering let's say if you have a not great GPA lets say below 3.0 or something around there,(but you passed all your classes) then what are your chances of getting into any residency?

I'm not a student so I can't comment on chances, but just wondering did you pass boards? First I think they need to know that because without passing boards slim to none.

Yes I passed my boards. I have good letters and good extracurriculars as well. I am just so worried.

Yeah it would suck if you didn't get a residency, but you won't be the only one! I'm sure scrambling is a pain in the a** but if it comes down to that at least you already know how to interview and have a little more experience under your belt. And if you don't get a spot this year, work for a podiatrist for a year and then reapply. Be optimistic...stressing is not helping!!

Prepare for your clinical questions for interviews, be honest, modest and sell yourself. We take people with all types of scores. This year Our top 10 had people in their low 3s to 4.0.

A related question. How do rank and GPA requirements differ? As in do you have to meet both or can you meet one or the other? Similarly, is greater emphasis placed on one of the requirements? I very much appreciate any insight. Thank you kindly.
