Just want to see if anyone on here or any of your classmates in dental school have been written up during dental school for a poor subjective evaluations and what the evaluation was for? My school is notorious for professors writing students stupid subjective evaluations for stuff like music selection students listen to in sim lab, "being nervous", not helping a classmate in sim. lab, not wearing scrubs between the hours of 8am-5pm, etc. Have you or any of your classmates that you know ever fought a subjective eval. that you thought was a poor/ridiculous assessment?

Here's the reality. You're at a PROFESSIONAL school in a doctoral program. Your instructors have a great deal of respect for this profession. Show the same degree of respect to the profession in the form of dressing in a way that is clinically appropriate during clinic hours, and if you are playing music out loud, have it be music that one day you wouldn't have any issues with playing in your own office while patients of all ages are there. If you do that, you won't have to worry about any subjective evaluations, since in the end, it's their opinion vs your opinion, and until you graduate, their opinion of you is more important than your opinion of them and their views on music, attire, etc

Seriously, all of these evals are very subjective. They expect you to kiss their a** and worship them like a king or a queen. All of them are the same and they will find any dirt on you just to make you look bad if they don't like you. Especially the female professors are very sensitive to a "prettier students" and they are super nice to the male students. For male professors, some of them are just pervs or mean. That's just the way it is in the school. Maybe just try to have a thicker skin until you graduate. Once you graduate and make a lot of money, you won't even remember all the horrible experiences you had during dental school.

Duck your head, brown nose, jump through their hoops, and graduate. Avoid drawing unwanted attention to yourself so be conservative. Stirring up trouble is not worth it.

Low profile is the way to go. Stay out of the way of the faculty, unless there is a clear connection. The goal is graduation, not a popularity contest.
