As people are taking Step 1 and then looking to give up their review books, I am wanting to grab some of them at good prices. So, I am deciding what ones to get, but in looking on this and other forums, I see different lists in terms of what subjects people buy books for. The obvious ones are always there, but then there are some (e.g., immunology) that don't always show up. This is my "complete" list and books that I have heard are good, yet not too overwhelming, for each.

What do you think about my listed books? For the subjects with no recommendation, what would you recommend?
Are there any subjects missing or low-yield topics that I should not worry about?

Thanks!

Gross Anatomy - HY
Neuroanatomy - HY
Embryology - HY
Physiology - BRS
Pharmacology - FA is adequate
Histology - hardly any mention
Pathology - BRS
Behavioral Science - HY
Microbiology - Clinical Micro Made Ridiculously Simple
Immunology - hardly any mention and if so, HY
Cell/Molecular Biology - hardly any mention
Genetics - hardly any mention and if so, FA is adequate
Biochemistry - HY

i don't know if these books are overwhelming but to add to your list-
biochem- lippincott- i think they are coming out with a new one this year which might be a good idea since the previous one is from 1994.
pharm- i used class notes, though 1st aid probably had the bulk of it- esp the interactions list.
cell/molec bio- i flipped through hy but i didnt find any real good review source
ga- i didnt like hy- thought it was kind of a waste of time- though perhaps it was good for the extremities- fa is probably good for ga anyway.
histo- i flipped through hy but it was probably overkill- just use it for the epithelia and connective tissue sections
immuno- i used the section in lange micro/immuno and the charts in hy- neither were great but at least the lange on had some decent narrative

Gross Anatomy - HY (skimmed) use netters as a reference
Neuroanatomy - HY (great)
Embryology - HY (great)
Physiology - BRS (A must)
Pharmacology - FA is adequate ( I agree)
Histology - hardly any mention (Histo? What histo?)
Pathology - BRS (Most definitely)
Behavioral Science - HY (Also a must)
Microbiology - Clinical Micro Made Ridiculously Simple (probably more than enough)
Immunology - hardly any mention and if so, HY (I personally liked the immuno section in BRS path too but FA should be enuf)
Cell/Molecular Biology - hardly any mention
Genetics - hardly any mention and if so, FA is adequate
Biochemistry - HY (looked at old notes and this book)

Overall, you have pretty much the same books as I used, but I would really concentrate on knowing FA cold at least a week before the exam. Go through that puppy as many times as you can.

Since you're just accumulating the books now, if someone is selling at a good price and you even think you might need it, just buy it. The demand for used review books increases throughout the year and peaks in the spring. You can always sell books you decide you aren't going to use. There will definitely be buyers later on.
